Haus of Warr Mataro
Wines for Today, Tonight and Tomorrow
Mataro—also known as Mourvèdre or Monastrell—is a grape of many names and many layers. Though often overlooked, it offers incredible depth, structure, and soul. Haus of Warr is TOPE’s tribute to this underrated variety—a wine that speaks of patience, precision, and place.
But the name itself tells a deeper story: Haus of Warr is a play on TOPE’s founders—Tom Kriegshauser and Pete Warr names. Kriegshauser, meaning “someone from the house of war in German, nods to Tom’s heritage, while “Warr” honors Pete’s surname. Together, the name becomes a symbol of their collaboration, their roots, and their shared vision to produce world class wines.
Like its name, the wine is a fusion—of character, friendship, and place.
